FLASHBACK FRIDAY...

BIKINI BEAUTY

These images were captured about 3 years ago. I emailed them to her daddy while he was off working. And yes, I titled the email "bikini beauty"...thinking he would be expecting something else. He told me this was what he was expecting when he opened the mail....I guess so...it was an email from his mom (not a buddy or something). LOL

BACKTRACKING #11: First Dip in the Pool for Summer 2009

Just realized that I never finished this post. I had the images and the title. So since it has been two years...that's all that this post will have. Apparently two years ago I had the best intention of backtracking a lot of posts (like 17 of them) and I didn't finish. Oh well...at least I still have the images to add! Enjoy!.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND: PART 2 (08.31.08)

THE LAST SWIM IN THE POOL FOR THE SUMMER OF 2008!
Who would have guessed on the last day of summer that Natalie and Poppa could come up with one more new fun game to play in the pool.

Natlie enjoyed a little bit of everything about the pool this last time for the summer of 2008. Here she is just before sliding down.

And now she is just plain acting silly.

There's she goes!

And she's gone!

Now this was another new thing she did. I think she has been watching some Olympics. She is doing this bouncy thing at her news and then jumping...maybe she thinks it is diving?

the splash...

I tried really (but not really hard since I didn't really play with settings) to capture the different sequences of the jump. This wasn't in the above two images because it was a different jump, but if it is the typical middle shot of the last two. I love this one of her in mid-air. No one would have guessed just 12 weeks ago this little one was afraid of the water.

I liked the way the frame of the ladder framed her face in this one.

We had already packed most of the pool stuff the day before, but saved a few for Natalie's last swim of the summer. The last time she used these spider-man floaties so just as suspected she didn't mind using them again. (If Dalton thinks they are cool...they must be!)

While I was running her bath water and fixing some supper, this is Natalie playing with "new" kittens. They aren't quite 2 weeks old. These really slipped upon us. We aren't very good pet owners. We intend to get Mama Cat fixed along with her other 3 children who have made our home their home since no one else seemed to want a FREE kitten (not cat). With our busy lives, we can't seem to make it a priority. Maybe this time we will before we have cat farm!

So in the meantime, Natalie is enjoying loving Mimi's Kitties.

MY FIRST BLOG ENTRY...

...WAS EXACTLY ONE YEAR AGO TODAY, AUGUST 29, 2007

MY LITTLE SWEETHEART ONE YEAR AGO TODAY

This image was captured exactly one year from today. I started her blog that a.m. and later that day after her Poppa came home I photographed her playing in the pool.

I have learned a lot since then and there's still a lot more I want to learn.

Remember when:

I think this will work. I just re-read the first few posts. I still have lump in my throught. I have been so blessed to have been such a big part of her life these first three years. I know she will always be a very special part of my heart. I am trying to concentrate on how blessed that I have been to have experienced so much joy with her rather than how sad I feel not being with her now. I know we still have many fun weekends and special days ahead do of us.

MY FIRST BLOG ENTRY WAS EXACTLY ONE YEAR AGO TODAY.

That's if for now. I must be back to work so that I can enjoy her more when she is here this weekend.

PART 2: IMAGES OF NATALIE'S LAST DAY...

while living in this area.
After a nice big lunch, we were all wanting to come home and take a Sunday afternoon nap. As soon as we got out of the car, Natalie says, "I wanna go swimming." She had been lately because of all the rain. It was raining at the moment. So by all means, let's go. The fringe benefit of swimming before napping is that it makes a very tired little girl...one who usually goes down very easy.
None of these images are that great. After taking tons of images the day before at the lake, I didn't want to get the "big" cameron out. So I continued to use the point and shoot.

A rare photo of Mimi and Natalie in the pool. I am usually the one taking things. In fact, I didn't know this one was taken until I got these off the card.

I don't know who she got this from. It really isn't to sweet, but it is Natalie. This is something that sometimes she does when try to photograph her. I guess she is just being silly.

Cari wanted me to take action shots of her and Natalie jumping in. This is something that did a lot this summer. Actions shots are not my strong suit, but definitely not with that camera. But I tried...

It just takes so much longer for the camera to focus...

Getting ready to jump...

After the jump...

So we tried again...

and again...it's isn't in focus, but you can see their movement and they are really jumping.
If this rain doesn't stop, this may have been our last swim in the pool. Maybe we'll get another chance to play in the pool before summer days end.
