Natalie and the Bunny

Natalie and the Bunny Dress I bought this dress for Natalie from Ebay. Several girls were photographed in this dress last year when I did my bunny portration promotion. It was perfect for it since I had live white bunnies just like the ones smocked. So I when I ran across the dress while shopping for something else on ebay, I couldn't resist it.
It has just been too much going on this year to do the Bunny Promotion. So I bought the stuffed bunny at Target. It matched perfect too. So last week I took Natalie in the studio to do at least a few of her and the stuffed bunny with the bunny dress. Earlier that day I had been practicing some exposure settings with my new camera. While doing that I had moved my shutter way down, I forgot to change it, but didn't even catch it from the camera back. But as soon as downloaded the images, I realized it. So no, they're not awesome images, but they were salvagable and I am still glad that I have them. They are our memories.

I actually like the expression of the image above. At this age we often get "cheezy" smiles or none at all. I think this is the sequence where I asked her to say "Mimi" rather than cheeze, but I never ask for cheeze anyway, but they learn.

These are asking for now smile. The first images that I took. I stil like the hint of a smile.

BUNNIES AND NATALIE LAST YEAR

EASTER PORTRAITS 2007 I love the way she crossed her ankles in these. I am not sure, since it was a year ago, but I don't think I told her to cross them...I think it was something she started about that time.

Before the fake smile thing started so often...

This was the best portrait session that I had with her since her 6 mos. portrait session. She was just old enough to "reward" with good behavior. She had to do what I asked so that she could play with the "HOPS" (that's what she called them). Of course, she didn't have no problem smiling with them. For weeks after I took them back home, she asked for them. She would even go to the back door where I kept them. I even made sure she was with us when we took them back so that she would understand, but I guess that was still a little two much for a 20 month old to comprehend. ~~Natalie's Mimi~~

HAPPY SPRING!!!

I took a few of Natalie the week before last when I did Jonah's Session with Hannah. I was hoping to get some really nice images of her, but I started to rain and I only had a few. None were that great, but I still decided to do a Spring/Easter card with one of the images. I decided to use these images because I knew time was running out. I still didn't get them mailed. I also did a few in the studio with the stuffed bunny and her bunny dress last week in hopes of throwing something together to take the family for Easter. I didn't get these cards in the mail and I didn't finish editing the bunny ones until a few minutes ago. Oh well...

I will still try to mail these...

This was a card I considered designing, but decided to go with the other size so that I could include in the same envelope Valentine's and Christmas (for some people). This is would have been 5x5 and the others weres 4x8 so I went with the 4x8 design.

NATALIE'S ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Well, not Natalie's engagement exactly, but I think its hers too...not just her parents. When she was being silly or uncooperative her daddy asked if this was a family portrait session or engagement...did I normally do the child with engagement...the answer is yes if the child comes first. But the only real problem is dealing with a not-so-cooperative two-year old. But no one can deny that is one is so sweet. I know I love it. Maybe not technically perfect, but close enough to perfect for me (since they are mine)... You would think so too if you had been there. "I guess we should have brought Jonah". The inside joke of that is that Natalie wanted her photo done when it was Jonah's session the other day. So his mommy offered to bring him the next time I wanted to photograph Natalie. (LOL)

This next image is a typical version of what we got more than the above image...though most of them weren't this pleasant...many involved threats of "the spanking stick" and bribery of ice cream and the like...but you must admit this makes you laugh outloud too!
I love poses with children holding their parents hands. This one has a quirky expression. Isn't it funny the expression that you capture when you are freezing (photographing) at 1/125 of a second. Of course, at this point, I am just pleased that she is looking at the camera. This session made me so glad I am not their wedding photographer! I have already started praying that Natalie will be on her best behavior on the wedding day (probably a little to much to ask for, uh God?)

SUBWAY: 03.16.08

WELL WE HAD TO EAT ATER OUR TIRING PORTRAIT SESSION... So we were starving after the engagement session at the lake. We had to go to Vidalia to pick up Cari and to take movies back...so where have we NOT ate lately? Yes, Subway! How do you like that "cheese"? [for the above image]

I think this is a delayed attemp at another "cheese". You know how those darn point and shoot cameras are. That's the end of this Sunday evening. We spent our late afternoon and early evening at the the lake during the engagement portraits (something we've been intending to finish for months--we did the first half on LSU campus months ago). We photographed until dark. Picked up Cari. Ate at Subway and then made back home around 9:15 or so. I quickly scanned the images for sharpness and clarity...next for cute images with Natalie. I am posting that next. I only doing a few that's all I have had time to view. I have a busy week ahead of me. Tomorrow I am getting off to an early start to go to Alex. (something I have been needing to do since before the trip to Memphis). Cameron is home this week for spring break. I am several more new sessions and the Good Friday is Prom. So I have pics before and during the prom for that. So as Tigger would say it, "Ta Ta for now!"

A FEW DAYS AGO...

A few days ago Natalie thought she wanted to eat an apple with the peelings on it...

SATURDAY MORNING IN MEMPHIS (March 1, 2008)

Natalie on Saturday, March 1, 2008You may have seen this image before. I think I posted it in some of the images about the gin show on this blog or the other one www.japimages.blogspot.com . I am not sure if put it on both of them or not.

We all semi-dressed up for the saftely luncheon over at the convention center. Natalie's poppa's gin along with several others received safety awards. So this is the first year to do this, but they had a special luncheon to honor these gin. I didn't take any photos there, but I did a few before leaving. This is Natalie wearing a cute little set that her Aunt Maria and Uncle Danny bought her for Christmas and I think she is actually posing for me.

The window was a little too bright and when I realized it, I did the ones of Natalie in the other chair, but I didn't dare ask everyone else to do it over. As you must know, they aren't too fond of "taking pictures" as much as me. None these are great portraits are anything like that, but they are our special memories.
