NATALIE AND PRECIOUS NAPPING TOGETHER!

BY NOW YOU PROBABLY KNOW HOW I LOVE THE SWEETNESS OF SLEEPING PHOTOS. I TAKE THEM EVERYTIME I GET A CHANCE, BUT HOW MUCH MORE "PRECIOUS" THAN NATALIE AND PRECIOUS NAPPING TOGETHER!

JUNE 16, 2007

These were photographed about a year ago. Recently I posted images of Natalie from a year ago. Since I didn't have the blog back then I like to go back occassionally and pick out some images from the same time of year. I didn't post these then because these were underexposed because of the darkness of the room (for napping) and I didn't want to use flash (because I didn't want to wake her). So I needed to work on them a bit which is why I didn't include them with the images that I posted recently from a year ago.

Often Precious will still nap with Natalie. She doesn't always snuggle with her unless she has just gotten groomed and she is cold.

06.22.08, PART 1: "NATALIE'S FIRST MARY KAY CLASS"

My Aunt Lo has been selling Mary Kay for around 13 years now. So one thing you can always count on is a Mary Kay class for whatever new product Mary Kay has just come out with at the time of her visit. This time Cari and I were interested in the new natural foundation that Mary Kay has developed. Of course, Natalie had to get involve in this too. If you have been in tune with Natalie's World since the beginning, you might remember her "oh so pretty days" around the onset of the "terrible twos". There for a while (just so happen to be right after she turned 2), everytime she got the chance, she got into something. All two years old like exploring and learning all about their world, but Natalie has had a special interest in make-up, nail polish, etc. I have a few images of her from back then getting into mascara...putting it on and then telling Mimi, "oh so pretty!". It was funny, but not. You know how hard mascara is to remove!
This was Natalie's opportunity to try out some new make-up w/o getting into trouble. I wished I new exactly where the photo of Cari is when Aunt Lo had first started and was doing a class when Cari was about the same age Natalie is now. It was so cute too!
Aunt Lo is telling Natalie to pick out some new colors that she might be interested in trying.

I'm not sure what this expression really is, but it looks like..."oh, this is so confusing...so many choices..."

Natalie did come up some she was interested in...

posing with Aunt Lo

Aunt Lo showing Natalie how to put on her eye shadow. It was kind of funny how Natalie held her other eye like this was quite a difficult task.

Cari showing of her new natural base. I loved the window lighting in her eyes so I snapped a few of her too.

Natalie putting on her final touches (my new lip gloss).

I broke this day down into thirds since it seemed to have three different subjects. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we enjoyed our visit with family.

06.22.08, PART 2: "CHILDREN LOOKING UP TO THE OLDER CHILD!"

I MADE REFERENCE TO THIS POST EARLIER. YOU KNOW HOW I CONTINUALLY CAPTURE NATALIE LOOKING AT DALTON. SHE ADORES HIM AND CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT HE'LL DO NEXT. I NOTICED HER DOING THE SAME THING WITH ZOE. ISN'T THIS A CUTE CAPTURE...

Cari took the above image and this one. I was working on my Mary Kay order (I think or something). When she told me they were outside playing, I asked her to take some photos of them playing. So I can't explain this image. It's cute, but I am not sure why they are squatting like this rather than standing or sitting (which what I would have asked them to do).

When I was photographing the last images when I knew it was about time for us to leave because Cari needed to be at church by 4:30 for 4th of July program practice, I caught this one of Zoe. She was sitting by Cari (looking up to the older child!). I thought it was so precious and so sweet. Aunt Diane had already mentioned how much fun Zoe had at the wedding following Cari and Brooke around just like she is their age.

This post is dedicated to all the children and adults who have someone "cool" to look up to!

06.22.08, PART 3: "JUST HANGING OUT WITH FAMILY"

The above images is Natalie, our cousin, Zoe, and my Aunt Diane. Aunt Diane is my daddy's youngest sister. She is only 9 years old than me and probably closer to my age than her brother's (my dad). Zoe is her granddaughter. Well, actually she is her step-granddaughter. She has two son's and neither of them have had children yet and there comes a time in a woman's life that she is ready for a grandchild...so when Zoe came along Aunt Diane just fell in love with her!
Her son, B.J, is about a year and half older than Cameron. I enjoyed his hand-me-down clothes for the few years. Cameron eventually caught up to him in size. I was lucky to have a base start of baby clothes for both my children. Brooke, my niece who often makes appearances here, is two plus years older than Cari. So I had her girl clothes when Cari was a baby.

This is my Aunt Lo and Uncle Tim, from Lakeland, Forida, with Natalie. They are in this week. Almost every summer when I was a child they would come in for a visit for a week. We always look forward to it. All of my daddy's family would get together and visit. Aunt Lo is the oldest of the girls (my dad second oldest) of the five sibs in my dad's family. The visiting is a little different now that we are all grown up. I don't get to see my cousins, Lori and Mark, their children, like we did when we were kids. But since they did always stay most of the time at my family's home while they were in, we continue to look forward to their annual visits and miss them when they skip one like they did last year. It's a great opportunity for our families to get together and eat good food. (Boy, did I eat too much this weekend.)

Natalie enjoying her teaf (that's tea for those of you who haven't heard how Natalie pronounces tea). I don't usually make tea. But Natalie loves it and probably dranked a little more than she should, but certainly enjoyed her GiGi's tea!

Brooke had to work that evening so being a typical teen. She needed a little nap before working the evening shift. This is the 2nd one that I took and she was beginning to wake up.

I didn't photograph every little thing we did this weekend, but I did photograph enough to remember the memories that we made. I truly believe that memories are less likely to be forgotten when we have photos to refresh our thoughts about the events or activties that took place. I am so glad that photography was invented!

SATURDAY, 06.21.08: FUN OUTSIDE AT GIGI'S HOUSE!

Aunt Maria and Uncle Danny bought some fun little outside toys for the little ones (actually just Dalton and Natalie since they are our only little ones at this time). I don't know who I was visiting with at the time, but I didn't get my camera out in time and only got a few images of Natalie playing with these bubbles. I do remember after she spilled some of hers, she wanted to play with Dalton's. He didn't let her. So next they got back on the trampoline. Earlier in the day I watched them on the trampoline. It takes constant supervison for that since Dalton is bigger than Natalie he could easily bounce her off (an almost did a time or two).
Here's one of Natalie in mid-air!

Natalie giving Uncle Danny a great big kiss and hug. What sweet little girl!

There she is looking at Dalton again. Little ones love watching and imitating the older child (more on that in my images from the next day). Isn't it just an adorable shot?

DALTON:
Here's a sweet one of the adorable little guy in our lives. We all love him so much!
A sweet one of both, Natalie and Dalton, looking sweet as can be.
Natalie and her Aunt Maria. Aunt Maria loves her so much too!
I have a few more images and few posts to cover from yesterday (the day after these images) that I will try to post later today. But that's it for now.

FYI and Natalie about a year ago

I posted the FYI last night and I hate to post anything w/o images and since I knew I wouldn't really have time to do any new images this morning while I was trying to finish up some work and getting ready to go out of town. So I scanned through images that were approximately a year ago and I ran across these:

This first one is of Natalie out by the deck after a good rain where her "bug" boots as she called them a few minutes ago when she saw me working on this. This was taken on June 18, 2007...almost a year ago to the week.
another one from the same day with a little color pop--notice the green really coming out in her eyes
a year ago to the day--photographed on 06.21.07--still best buds today, Cari and Alexa
June 24, 2007, Sunday morning before church: Natalie and her Poppa

JUST A LITTLE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

My aunt who lives in Florida is coming in this weekend to my mom's. It is sort of like a family reunion when they come (usually once a year). It has been that way since I was child. And now I have grandchild. They didn't come in last year, but she met Natalie the year before. So rather than grab all the photographs from the last few months or in this case the last year, I wanted to update the blog and use it as my photo album...after all no one prints photos like we used to do before digital (especially photographers).

I had images from Graduation up to last week ready to post when I get my other blog current too. I had not added all the text so I added it to the first few or as they show up the last few. I realized that I am tired, it is getting late and I still have several things to do. So I posted some of them w/little information with plans to give more detailed docmentation later. I lease I have some of the images ready for viewing.

I don't really have any new images from this week. And if I did it would probably be more of Natalie swimming. And I am thinking you may have seen enough of those for now. I will take one quick shot tomorrow to add because I literally hate to have text w/o an image...after I am a visual person so it only makes sense that I have a photo with each post.

So for now enjoy the upcoming posts from bible school, to swimming to wedding stuff. If you want to know more about Natalie's World check back in a week or two for more detailed documentation about the images.

BEFORE BIBLE SCHOOL (Day 3): "I have butter on my feet!"

"I have butter on my feet." (lol) This is what I heard while I was busy getting ready for bible school while Natalie was eating her breakfast. She was eating her blueberry muffins and obviously she dropped some butter from her muffin to her feet. Too funny!

This was one taken first while she was still half asleep and watching TV. As you can see she's not a morning person. And yes, those are (boy) Diego pajamas. Since last fall she has loved Diego as much as Dora. So when I saw these inexpensive Diego p.j.s at wal-mart, I couldn't resist them. I think they were one of her favorite Christmas gifts. Shes has worn them and worn them. They were always the first pair she would grab form her night clothes drawer. Sometimes I would hide them, so she would wear her others.
Edited to add:
I even drip dry these now so they won't shrink as bad. They are her absolutley favorite p.j.s. I never would have guessed that when I found them at Wal-mart before Christmas.

We have been planning to give Natalie a fiesta themed birthday party rather than Dora. She has been saying that she wants a Dora and Diego. So we thought we could combine them along with a Mexcian Fiesta theme. She talks about Diego being her friend, but recently she says he's not her friend anymore. Who knows where that came from?

BIBLE SCHOOL: DAY 3

Cari helped with bible school for the 2nd year in a row. Since I would be taking her daily and gas costs like they are now, I volunteered to help in the nursery. I brought my camera the day that Natalie came with us.

But this is Natalie trying to catch bubbles in her mouth!

Again, I will add more info next week. There are some really cute stories behind these images.

FUN AT THE PARK AFTER BIBLE SCHOOL

This is the day we went to the park after bible school. I do have great stories to go with these, but I am getting sleeping and I still have more to do.

Doesn't she look cute in her little "CHILDREN'S PLACE" outfit? I do love dressing up my "little doll".
